AUTHOR CREDITS

Kym Wright is the mother of eight great homeschooled children and the author of the exciting new book: Booster Shot: Energize Your Homeschool with Unit Studies. With a Bachelor of Science Degree from Judson College in Marion, Alabama, she has been homeschooling for 20-something years, with her oldest daughter learning to read at 3½ - and she has authored hundreds of articles on homeschooling, education, mothering, and practical living. Her articles have appeared in many national publications including Practical Homeschooling and Home Schooling Today, and Kym has been a columnist for many homeschool publications. She now publishes a premium online magazine called The Mother’s Heart, with the foundation that if the mother’s heart is right, and she is convinced of the value of her role as a mom, she’ll make great choices for her family.

A longterm member of the homeschooling community, Kym has taught classes to homeschoolers ranging from animal husbandry to dissection, microscopes to beginning sewing and quilting, Shakespeare to Speech 101. She has served in many homeschool leadership positions, and has been the editor for state and local homeschool publications. Mark & Kym began homeschooling their children in the mid-80s, before it was really legal. With few curricula from which to choose, Kym began writing her own lessons to teach her children different topics: how to use the microscope, botany, color theory, raising goats, and more. Friends asked to borrow the lesson plans, then encouraged Kym to make them available to others. Thus, alWright! Publishing was born.

Kym has been a freelance writer for more than forty years specializing in education, home education, parenting issues and Christian themes. She has loved being a columnist for many magazines, writing often for several others, and writing twenty books. For five years her family published a magazine for stay-at-home moms, now they have begun again! She has taught homeschool co-op courses and run a co-op for hundreds of students for many years. She has written and taught Bible Studies for women and children.

Kym has interviewed senior editors of publications, CNN correspondents, state legislators and political leaders. She has been interviewed for television, radio, magazines, newspapers, and on the internet. Her books have been reviewed in trade publications, magazines, newsletters, newspapers, and on the world-wide web. Kym’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree, writing for publication since she was in high school and writer’s conferences. As the mother of eight children, and having educated them at home, she has a vast store of knowledge and experience from which to draw. And, lastly, she won a poetry contest in high school, which began her love of writing for public viewing.
